I got second place in contest! I'm really happy with that
I want to work on my digital painting, I really like the watery washed look with understated tones, I really want to be able to do that to, I think my work looks to shiny and bold...so any advice is welcome!

I got back from helping on the penultimate shoot for a lord of the rings fan movie called born of hope, and it looks so good! I got to do some background work as a distressed villager with my sister and we made lunches for the crew and did general errands. My brother was an extra Orc on a previous shoot, and this time he got to be a villager and a ranger too.
Considering the low budget, I think it's going to look really good, the costumes and make-up are really good, and the actors are really convincing in their roles. Its the story of Arathorn (Aragorn's father) and the demise of the dunedain the movie is going to be available to download around end of october - cant wait! hopefully i'll get to go to the premier *fingers crossed* if you want to check out the trailer its on their website [link]
The sets they chose were AMAZING really good, they found a place opposite clearwell caves, a farm that hosts live action roleplay events, and it has a stunning forest with gorges and rocky outcrops, exactly like something from Tolkien.

at the moment i'm checking out [link] Hunt for Gollum which is another independent fan made film, that's 40mins long and is already released for online streaming

I'm going to enter a few more contests before the summers up, my sister showed me a fairytale/quote inspired one that i think i might give a go.
